Want a P2P usage update? No? Ah, well, here it is! According to BigChampagne, who monitor these things, global usage of file sharing networks was up to 9.62 million last month, 1.3% more than in July, and a massive 41% more than in August 2004. Usage in the US was pretty much static on July, but 51% up on this time last year, meaning, assuming we trust these figures, file sharing via P2P networks is ever more popular, despite the high profile lawsuits against those who illegally share copyrighted content over them (perhaps all these new P2P users are sharing music by unsigned bands, though I find that hard to believe).
