Patrick Wolf innocent, say his people

Patrick Wolf is on police bail after being arrested on suspicion of burglary, following an incident in which he injured himself falling down stairs; his people say he is innocent.

So, a very confusing story involving CMU favourite Patrick Wolf this morning. Apparently Mr Wolf is on police bail after a bizarre series of events led to him being arrested on suspicion of burglary. See if you can make head or tail of this - cos I can't.

Patrick fell down a flight of stairs next to his home, and put his hand through a window while trying to break the fall, injuring his arm. He initially passed out, but came round and was taken to hospital. When he returned his neighbour's burglar alarm was ringing and it transpired someone had broken in through a window and stolen jewelry. Because Wolf had injured himself on glass that night, and because he knew the house was empty (he had been asked to keep an eye on it) that made him a suspect - although the fact the neighbour had left him a set of keys to the house, and the fact he was at hospital being treated for his cuts when the burglary took place, make the case against him rather weak! But nevertheless, police apparently had to arrest and fingerprint the singer as part of their investigations.

Anyway, the word from Wolf's people is "he's innocent guvnor", which is all you need to know really. Perhaps he could write a song about the whole ordeal, and then we might get a better idea about what happened, albeit in rhyme.
