Perry Farrell wants Lollapalooza in Europe but cites hurdles

Jane's Addiction's Perry Farrell wants to bring Lollapalooza to Europe, but cites line-up changes and the different mobile networks needed for its interactive elements.

Jane's Addiction's Perry Farrell has revealed that he wants to bring his Lollapalooza festival to Europe, but he says he is worried about possible problems with the technology required for the interactive part of the festival, and that he has concerns that getting a line-up to rival the US tour would prove problematic.

Farrell said: "We have ambitions to be there, but once you jump across the pond, the quality changes. The line-up necessarily has to change because people move on from the summer and there might be obligations…. and then there is the technology, we'd have to set things up quite differently over there."

Possible technical issues stem from the fact that Europe uses different satellite networks than America for its mobile phones. The tour utilises these networks for the interactive gaming components of the event and reconfiguring them for European technology might be expensive.
