Pete Doherty attacks Carl Barat and Alan McGee in new Babyshambles song

Pete Doherty has released Gang Of Gin with Babyshambles, lashing out at bandmate Carl Barat and manager Alan McGee for ousting him from The Libertines.

Why we don't just rebrand as the Doherty Daily Update I don't know. Anyway, here's the latest.

Estranged Libertine Pete Doherty has written a new song with side-project Babyshambles in which he lays into bandmate Carl Barat and Libertines manager Alan McGee for chucking him out of the band, again.

The new track, which is already on line, is called 'Gang Of Gin' and features the lyrics: "I'll tell you my story / The treachery, it bores me / Carl and McGee both promised me / It would not happen this way / Carl is kept sedated / The frontman elevated."

He also finds time to slag off the music industry in general, singing: "In this industry of Fools / Musclemen and ghouls / If you're not a puppet or a muppet / Then you might as well call it a day."

As previously reported, Babyshambles will kick off their UK tour at Brighton Concorde 2 on 16 Sep. Meanwhile The Libertines release their new single 'What Became Of The Likely Lads' on 18 Oct.
