Pete Doherty is to appear at Scottish festival 'Burns An A'
That', an Ayrshire event that celebrates the legacy of poet
Robert Burns with a programme of music, poetry, art and literature.
Doherty, a former child prodigy who won a poetry scholarship when he was sixteen, will recite some of his own work on 28
May at "an evening of explosive poetry and song."
The former Libertine is among a line up of headline acts that also includes Lou Read, Mylo and Finley Quaye. The festival's director, Pete Irvine, says the festival, which runs from 20
- 29 May, is becoming increasingly successful, and said: "Our programme may be controversial or at least unpredictable, but it will appeal to a broad range of contemporary audiences."
