The Pipettes have announced that Anna MacDonald, who only recently joined the group, following the departure of Rose and Becki Pipette earlier this year, has decided to leave to pursue a solo career. This means they have been forced to cancel their appearance at Swn festival this Friday.
In a statement, the group said: "The most recent addition to The Pipettes, Anna MacDonald, has abruptly announced her decision, but days ago, to pursue a song-writing career outside of the band. As a consequence, we are regretfully forced to cancel our performance at SWN Festival this Friday. This is something we are all very upset about. Plans to record the next Pipettes album are still afoot, and as such, our quest for the perfect Pipette continues".
Former Pipette Rose Elinor Dougall will, of course, be headlining a special Christmas edition of the CMU Social on 9 Dec at 229 on Great Portland Street. Entry is free to CMU Daily subscribers. Just email [email protected] to add yourself to the guestlist.
