A former editor of the newspaper industry's trade mag, the Press Gazette, is reportedly in negotiations to buy the now defunct magazine. Tony Loynes is reportedly in talks with the administrators who are looking after the Press Gazette's affairs, and has also reportedly been in touch with some of the magazine's now redundant editorial team to sound them out about the idea. The Press Gazette's website (still live though not really operational) said this weekend "promising talks ... suggest that the 41-year history of the title may not be over, after all", while quoting administrator Robert Allen as saying: "Watch this space. I can't say much more because these things are sensitive but today is a new day. And I'm looking forward to it."
