Prince celebrates Purple Rain anniversary

Prince's 'Purple Rain' is being re-released on a two-disc DVD special edition on 18 October, with commentaries and eight music videos, alongside Graffiti Bridge and Under The Cherry Moon.

Prince will commemorate the 20th anniversary (yes, twenty years, I am so old) of his Oscar winning 'Purple Rain' film with a special re-release on DVD. 'Purple Rain: The 20th Anniversary Two-Disc Special Edition' will be released on 18 Oct and will present the film in full Dolby Digital 5.1 audio and widescreen and will feature commentaries from director Alber Magnoli, producer Robert Cavallo and cinematographer Donald E Thorinand.

Also included will be eight Prince music videos ('Let's Go Crazy', 'Take Me With U', 'When Doves Cry', 'I Would Die 4 U/Baby I'm A Star', 'Purple Rain', 'Jungle Love', 'The Bird' the wonderfully named 'Sex Shooter'), plus footage from the film's 1984 MTV Premiere Party

Prince's other movies, the somewhat dubious 'Graffiti Bridge' and the rather dodgy 'Under The Cherry Moon', are also out on DVD on 18 October.
