Prince turned down Jacko's tour offer

According to a party-goer quoted by The Sun, Michael Jackson proposed a co-headline tour with Prince, but Prince turned the offer down.

It seems bizarre that there was a time in the 80s when Smash Hits used to portray Michael Jackson and Prince as rivals, as if they were ever making the same kind of music. Then again, to compare Oasis and Blur musically is a bit bizarre, yet a rivalry was still manufactured. Anyway, perhaps there is some tension between the Jacko and Prince camps, because reports suggest the former suggested a co-headline tour, but the latter has turned the offer down, possibly not wanting to perform to Jackson's slightly loony fans. This story seems to stem from something a party-goer overheard Jacko saying at a recent soiree over at the Sultan Of Brunei's place. The Sun quote said party-goer thus: "Michael seemed pretty upset about it. He said he'd approached Prince to see if he would like to work together, but Prince wasn't interested".
