It's been reported that music producer Dallas Austin, who has worked with the likes of Michael Jackson, Madonna, Aretha Franklin and Boyz II Men, has been arrested on drugs charges in Dubai. Austin was apparently on his way to a three day party at the state's exclusive Burj Al Arab hotel to celebrate supermodel Naomi Campbell's birthday.
Dubai, a member of the United Arab Emirates, has very strict drug laws, and, if the story is true, Austin will face the possibility of a life-sentence, or indeed, a death sentence, if found guilty. There has been no confirmation of the arrest, however, and a representative for Austin has strenuously denied the reports. A spokesperson for Naomi Campbell has told the New York Daily News, "Naomi doesn't know anything about this."
