The prosecution in the Michael Jackson case have announced that they plan to complete their case against the singer next week, and word is the defence will kick off their bit of the proceedings almost straight away. That more than likely means a string of high profile celebs taking to the witness stand to testify to Jacko's good character and innocent love of children. Liza Minnelli, Elizabeth Taylor, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross and interviewer Larry King are all likely to appear. TV host Jay Leno will also take to the stand to confirm Jacko's accuser Gavin Arvizo once asked him for money towards his cancer treatment - part of the Jacko defence team's attempts to portray the Arvizos as a family who used Gavin's illness to extort money out of celebrities. Macaulay Culkin, who denies allegations he was ever molested by Jackson while he stayed at Neverland as a teenager, is reportedly reluctant to testify.
Meanwhile, back to the prosecution's case, and yesterday there was more on those allegations that Jackson held the Arvizo family hostage at the Neverland ranch. Brian Barron, a former Neverland security guard testified that for a week in 2003 there was a note on the board of the ranch's guard house that said Gavin Arvizo must not leave the ranch, perhaps suggesting that Jacko's accuser was being forced to stay at Jacko's home. That said, Barron admitted that he did not know if Arvizo's mother was at Neverland at the time, and admitted if Gavin was there alone it would be a sensible precaution to not let him leave the ranch alone.
The case continues of course, and it will be interesting to see what the prosecution have up their sleeves as they complete their case to the court.
