Pub landlord is out of the Academy

Comedian Al Murray was the first celebrity voted out of the Comic Relief version of Fame Academy, having been eliminated in the Saturday night sing-off.

Comedian Al Murray was the first of the celebs to be voted out of the charity version of Fame Academy, currently running as part of the Comic Relief festivities. Murray was essentially voted out before the show even began - 13 celebs took part in a 'sing-off' on Saturday night competing for the 12 places at the Fame Academy.

It was a shame really because Murray was sure to be one of the funniest celebs in the show, plus he had been one of the main people doing the talk show rounds to plug it (T4 aired their pre-recorded interview with Murray about him being on the show on Sunday, even though he had been voted off on Saturday night!).
