Radio 2 rejigs schedule, giving Mark Radcliffe a new 8-10pm slot with Stuart Maconie

Radio 2 has announced a schedule shake-up giving Mark Radcliffe an 8-10pm show co-presented with Stuart Maconie, and a new weekly slot for Steve Lamacq.

Radio 2 has announced a schedule rejig which will see Mark Radcliffe get a new slot, an extra half hour and a new co-presenter. Radcliffe, currently presenting a late night show for the network, will get the 8-10pm slot, which he will co-present with Stuart Maconie. The revamp means that the specialist shows that have traditionally aired in the evening will move to late night - a move which the BBC station say is not a sign of them marginalizing specialist programming, because the late night slot tends to get bigger audiences for specialist music shows. Among the other changes is launch of a new show for Steve Lamacq, who will present a weekly show for the station, meaning he now has programmes on BBC Radios 1, 2 and 6Music.
