Rhymefest records UK track for Rhyme4respect competition

US rapper Rhymefest recorded his contribution to the Rhyme4respect songwriting competition in the UK, with winning lyrics also recorded by several British artists.

By the way, you know how Rhymefest was in the news last week after his confab with that David Cameron bloke? Well, what we didn't tell you was that the US rapper was in the UK to record his contribution for the previously reported Rhyme4respect competition.

This was the competition for aspiring urban song/rapwriters which encouraged said aspirers to submit a song or rap that "encourages self respect and respect for others on the theme of relationships and sex". Entrants' work was posted online over the summer, and a public vote has helped choose the overall winners, whose work has now been recorded by Estelle, Terri Walker, Akala, Kano and the aforementioned Rhymefest. Apparently there's also going to be a recording by the 'grime allstars' relating to the competition.

We'll have more details for you once we know more about where those recordings are going to surface, and who's behind the winning lyrics. Meantime, more info on it all at http://www.rhyme4respect.com
