RI:SE may well be dropped during war

Channel 4 may cut its RI:SE breakfast show to make room for extended war news bulletins if a conflict begins.

Well, rumours that Channel 4 are hoping to quietly shunt RI:SE out of the schedules with war coverage may just be true. The channel is stepping up its news operations, with a lunchtime Channel 4 News bulletin planned. Now staff at the news service have been told that if (when?) war begins they will also broadcast a breakfast time bulletin from 7am – 8.15am – making RI:SE a 45 minute show – probably a Mel & Sue vehicle. If that happens expect RI:SE to become the Mel & Sue Show and the much hyped under performing breakfast magazine to just disappear.
