Rodrigo Sanchez of Rodrigo y Gabriela granted US working visa

Rodrigo Sanchez has been granted a working visa at the US Embassy in Mexico City after being refused entry, allowing the duo's tour to continue from 14 April.

More visa news, this time with a slightly happier ending for the individual concerned. Rodrigo Sanchez of Rodrigo Y Gabriela has been granted a working visa at the US Embassy in Mexico City after initially being refused entry to America for the duo's ongoing tour. Sanchez had previously entered the US without any problems at all, but his P-1 entertainer visa was suspended due to the fact that an individual with a similar name has been barred from entering the country.

Sanchez was detained in Mexico recently, and was forced to cancel 6 US shows, including an appearance at SXSW. But he will now be free to enter the US for the band's upcoming dates, starting 14 Apr.
