If you prefer your major music events to not involve making poverty history, then the Roskilde Festival in Denmark is already under way (it officially started yesterday, though people have been arriving since Sunday). If you want to catch Evil Nine, Armand Van Helden, Tom Vek, Sonic Youth and Velvet Revolver, well tough, because they all played yesterday. Still to come, though, are, among others, The Dears, The Tears, Junior Senior (remember them?), Audioslave, Snoop Dog and Black Sabbath (today), Jimmy Eat World, Duran Duran, Roots Manuva, The Raveonettes and Green Day (tomorrow), and Bloc Party, The Futureheads, Bright Eyes, The Game, Brian Wilson and Interpol. And to be fair Roskilde is pretty much like Glastonbury in its incorporation of humanitarian charities into its programme - so there'll probably be quite a lot of making poverty history stuff there too.
