Roxette singer sues over wrong tumour story

Roxette singer Marie Fredriksson is suing Swedish tabloid Expressen after it wrongly reported a second brain tumour, seeking an apology and damages.

Roxette singer Marie Fredriksson has confirmed she will sue the Swedish newspaper that claimed she was suffering from a second brain tumour. Fredriksson had surgery to remove a tumour last September. Then earlier this year Swedish tabloid Expressen wrongly reported that doctors had found a second tumour. Despite the fact the paper apologised profusely at the time, Fredriksson's lawyer has requested an apology on the paper's front page and £37,000 in damages. It is thought the star would donate the money to the Swedish Cancer Society.
