Runaway

New York project Runaway, featuring Marcus Cabral and Jacques Renault, are praised for their Chicago house and disco-influenced track 'Brooklyn Club Jam' from last month's vinyl.

Some long overdue DFA love with today's SNAP, Runaway, Marcus Cabral and Jacques Renault's New York based project. Sharing a love of Chicago House and classic disco records - and keeping these influences firmly on display - there's a timeless joy to the lead track on their Myspace, 'Brooklyn Club Jam', a tribal, bongo fuelled number that swerves into piano house around the 1 minute 30 mark, with fizzing hi-hats and spacey disco synth sounds also thrown into the mix. Out last month, there's still time to track down the vinyl with the rather lovely Brennan Green (of Chinatown records) mix on the flip side.
