Saddle Creek, the US independent behind the likes of Bright Eyes, Cursive, Rilo Kiley and the Faint, will next month release a DVD documentary documenting the label's first decade in business. Called 'Spend an Evening With Saddle Creek: The First 10 Years of Saddle Creek Records', the DVD will feature 50 odd live performances from numerous Saddle Creek acts plus interviews with every band that were on the Saddle Creek roster when the DVD was filmed (2003-2004), and with label founders Justin Oberst, Robb Nansel and Mike Mogis. Presumably it won't include footage of the label's other co-founder and first ever signing Conor Oberst dissing John Peel and the Make Poverty History campaign at this year's Glastonbury Festival, though I wish it did, because we never did find out exactly what he said.
