Said The Whale release album

Canadian band Said The Whale have an album, 'Howe Sounds/Taking Abalonia', out soon and available on iTunes from 10 June.

Canadian four piece Said The Whale sound a lot like The Shins with their shared passion for hand claps (see 'This City's A Mess') and summery, jangly indie pop ('This Winter I Retire'). And it's through this current collection of mighty fine tunes that they've already garnered a collection of press from many-a publication, most interestingly celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, whose recommendation pitched them between Badly Drawn Boy and The Killers musically, which I clearly haven't quite picked up yet. Anyway, STW have an album out soon, 'Howe Sounds/Taking Abalonia', which should be an exciting independent release for fans of modern US indie and can be bought on iTunes from tomorrow (Jun 10). But if you can't wait until then to hear these Canadian Shins-a-likes then hit the link below now for some streaming happiness.
