Sample the beats with Hip Hop Connection

Hip Hop Connection's latest issue includes a CD compiled by Mike Skinner for The Beats label, featuring the Mitchell Brothers, The Streets and other signings.

The latest edition of CMU's very favourite hip hop mag Hip Hop Connection celebrates the release of the new Mitchell Brothers album (out on Monday, hurrah) with a CD dedicated to the band's label which is, of course, Mike Skinner's The Beats label.

That CD has been compiled and mixed by Skinner and includes spotlights from the Mitchell Brothers' album, highlights from The Streets, and music from other signings to the label, including Professor Green, Roll Deep and Kano.

Both Skinner and the Mitchell Brothers, meanwhile, are interviewed inside the magazine. Asked about the Brothers, Skinner told the magazine: "The Mitchell Brothers are just two layabouts we found on the street, and, um, they're gonna be out of a deal in eight months."
