Shit hits the fan for Dave Matthews Band

The Dave Matthews Band and one of its drivers are being sued by Illinois for $70,000 after a tour bus driver allegedly emptied a septic tank onto a tour boat on the Chicago River.

Here's a fun one. The driver of The Dave Matthews Band tour bus has been accused of dumping 800lb (360 kg) of human waste onto a crowded boat. According to the BBC, more than 100 people were drenched in sewage when the driver of the bus emptied the septic tank through a grate in a bridge and into the Chicago river below on 8 Aug. The band and one of its drivers are being sued by the state of Illinois for $70,000 (£39,000) for allegedly violating water pollution and public nuisance legislation.

A spokesperson for The Dave Matthews Band said: "Our driver has stated that he was not involved in this incident." (The band) "will continue to be co-operative in this investigation". All of the people on the tour boat were refunded for the trip and none were seriously injured.
