Former Blue boy Simon Webbe has said that Elton John inspired the boy band's decision to split due to comments he made when Elton collaborated with the boys on 'Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word'. Webbe said "We decided to have a break because Sir Elton told us: 'You have a certain amount of longevity in the business. If you keep releasing pop albums as Blue you'll go stale.
