Sissel and Oslo Cathedral Boys Choir to perform at Trafalgar Square tree lighting

Norwegian singer Sissel and the Oslo Cathedral Boys Choir will perform a 30-minute programme at the Trafalgar Square Christmas tree lighting ceremony on 29 November.

Talking of Christmassy events in central London, platinum-selling Norwegian artist Sissel and the Oslo Cathedral Boys Choir are to perform live at the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Trafalgar Square on 29 Nov. Their 30 minute programme will consist of traditional Norwegian folk music, popular classical and pop music, all with a seasonal feel.

You probably already know about Norway's connection with the giant Trafalgar Christmas tree, but in case you don't, Oslo donates the tree to London each year, as a token of gratitude for Britain's support of Norway during the Second World War. Mayor Ken Livingston says "The Trafalgar Square Christmas tree is a central part of Christmas in London and a great symbol of the friendship between London and Norway. With Sissel and the Oslo Cathedral Boys Choir in attendance, the traditional lighting ceremony is set to be even more enchanting this year."
