Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root are using their time off touring and recording to rejoin their pre-Slipknot band Stone Sour. Meanwhile drummer Joey Jordison is playing guitar with his band Murderdolls. Both are set to release debut albums this summer via Slipknot's label, Roadrunner. The former will release an eponymously titled album in September. Taylor has described their sound as "more like Metallica meets Alice in Chains" than the Slipknot sound we are all familiar with. Jordison’s Murderdolls, meanwhile, have been described as a "sadistically comical" punk act. Release date for their debut album is still to be confirmed.
