Snap of the day: I Blame Coco

Sting's daughter Coco performs as I Blame Coco, a reggae-influenced pop-rock project, with live dates at Notting Hill Arts Club and Chiswick.

Another rockstar offspring in the SNAP column today (we had Talking Heads child Kid Ginseng too recently), with Sting's daughter Coco gracing this venerated section of the Daily with her musical project, I Blame Coco. Unlike Kid Ginseng, however, who sounds very little like his parents, Coco sounds remarkably like her father vocally, with her band even plying the same sort of reggae-influenced pop/rock synonymous with The Police. Indeed, this can be heard on standout track 'I Blame Coco', a natty bit of song-writing that seems to take a dig at her elders/siblings for blaming her for an unexpected house party, starting by protesting innocence: "How did all these people get in my room? I don't know", before claiming: "I Blame Coco, I always do". London-based folk and those willing to travel can see her live at Notting Hill Arts Club on Feb 21 and a Chiswick date on 2 Mar. The rest of you can start with the MySpace.
