Snow Patrol to start work on follow-up to 'Final Straw'

Snow Patrol will begin recording their follow-up to 'Final Straw' in late September, with frontman Gary Lightbody saying the album could take around six weeks.

Snow Patrol are starting work on the follow up to 'Final Straw' next month. In a message on the band's website frontman Gary Lightbody says he reckons the new long player can be completed in a mere six weeks.

Gary writes: "After a few weeks off to do some washing and pay the odd bill we will start on the new record. We haven't decided where we're going to do it yet, but we have narrowed it down to a few studios. We hope to be under way with the actual recording by the end of September and spend not much more than six weeks on the recording itself. The plan is to be well prepared before we go in, so that we can be focused when we start. Rather than go in and jam like some bands. Jamming never worked for us!"
