Sony withdraw McFadden video

SonyBMG has withdrawn the promo video for Brian McFadden's 'Irish Son' after St Fintian's High School complained it had been filmed there, and re-edited it.

SonyBMG have withdrawn the original promo video for the new Brian McFadden track after complaints from St Fintian's High School in Dublin.

The song, 'Irish Son', which McFadden claims is semi-autobigraphical, talks about being abused at school. The video shows various school scenes, and the people in charge of St Fintian's say it is obviously their school that has been filmed. McFadden did not attend St Fintian's - and as far as we can see the song is not meant to imply children are or were abused there.

SonyBMG say they assumed the school shown in the video was fictional. Not wishing to suggest anything untoward goes on at St Fintian's, as soon as the school complained about the video they arrange for it to be re-edited and re-supplied to TV networks. So everything's aright again.
