Spears conservatorship extended

Jamie Spears has had his conservatorship of Britney Spears extended indefinitely, with Commissioner Reva Goetz citing her susceptibility to undue influence.

Britney Spears' father Jamie has had his status as the singer's conservator extended indefinitely. As previously reported, Spears senior was handed the conservatorship, which put him in control of Britney's personal and financial affairs back in February, following her public breakdown and admission to hospital. The decision is apparently approved of by Spears herself, despite the fact that it means that her father and some attorneys are in charge of everything now until the end of her life, essentially. Of course, she could later petition to have the order removed.

Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz explained that she was granting the permanent conservatorship partly because the singer still seems susceptible to undue influence.
