Spears family ordered to pay legal costs

Court commissioner Reva Goetz has ordered James Spears, as conservator, to pay around $400,000 in outstanding legal fees for Britney Spears' lawyers and brother.

Britney Spears and her family have been ordered to pay all of their outstanding legal debts. Court Commissioner Reva Goetz has ruled that Britney's father James Spears must make the payments in his role as conservator of the singer's welfare and estate. This means that lawyers representing the star, and for some reason, her brother Bryan, are set to receive their dues, an amount totalling around $400,000.

It follows the previously reported order by another commissioner, Scott Gordon, who ruled that Britney Spears must pay ex-husband Kevin Federline $375,000 in legal fees to cover their child custody case.
