Spice Girls reunion reaches the homeland

The Spice Girls played a packed London show at The O2 after their reunion tour reached the UK, with generally positive reviews.

So, I was in the building as the Spice Girls reunion arrived in the UK on Saturday night, though I should stress I was next door at The O2's IndigO2 venue enjoying the much more cultured 75th anniversary concert for the BBC World Service headlined by, erm, Katie Melua. But next door the Spices (including Emma Bunton, despite her injuring her ankle at a US show) performed to a packed out arena with many a celeb among the excitable fans (I stood next to Richard E Grant on the tube home, and I'm assuming the Spice World star was there to see his former co-stars rather then Melua). The show garnered generally positive reviews from those critic types, while fans posting on blogs and message boards all seemed much more excited about the return of the Girls than the lacklustre performance of comeback single 'Headlines' might have suggested.
