Talking of personal problems that are possibly none of our business, Joss Stone has denied rumours that she dumped her ex because of a public outcry at their age difference.
Beau Dozier, aged 25, started dating the now 18-year-old Stone when she was 17 - the age of consent in California, where Stone currently lives, is 18. Of course she is 18 now, so I'm not sure why that's relevant, but anyway one source told the Mail On Sunday that the fantastically huge seven year age difference caused numerous problems for the singer, including the loss of a modelling contract: "Her fans, and more importantly, their mothers, did not like the fact that she was having under-age sex with an older man. It cost her the Gap job and now it has probably cost her the relationship". Another 'friend of the couple' told the paper: "People are saying it was her who broke things off. She is still very young and the controversy over their relationship destroyed it."
But Stone denies any such complications: "The reason we split is because we realised, after two years, that the relationship had become a friendship more than anything else. There was no drama, no screaming row, I didn't cheat on him and he didn't cheat on me. I just woke up one day and realised I didn't want to be in the relationship any more."
