Strokes say no releases imminent

The Strokes have posted on MySpace that they are taking time off and do not expect to release anything this year.

The Strokes have posted a statement on their MySpace page indicating that they won't be releasing any new stuff any time soon. The post reads: "The band are still enjoying some much-needed 'time off'. I wouldn't expect anything to come out this year. In the meantime, they are staying busy pursuing some other personal interests and are busy working/writing/rehearsing and all those things bands do in-between albums. But there are no immediate plans to release an album or tour for the time being".

So there you go. Band member Albert Hammond Jr is doing a few UK Festival dates this summer, however, if you're suffering from Strokes withdrawal.
