The Doors play London on New Year's Eve as Riders On The Storm

Ray Manzarek and Robbie Krieger will tour the UK in late December as Riders On The Storm rather than The Doors, joined by Ian Astbury.

The Doors are playing London on New Year's Eve, though CMU can exclusively reveal Jim Morrison won't be involved. Apparently he's going to be too dead. Actually, former The Doors members Ray Manzarek and Robbie Krieger won't be performing under The Doors name when they tour the UK at the end of December - they will perform as Riders On The Storm (there was a long running legal dispute over the use of The Doors name, as you may remember, with former drummer John Densmore, no longer touring because of hearing problems, objecting to Manzarek and Krieger using the name). The pair will be joined by former The Cult man Ian Astbury, who has toured with the regrouped The Doors previously. Dates of the upcoming tour are as follows:

29 Dec: Clyde Auditorium, Glasgow

30+31 Dec: Camden Roundhouse, London

2 Jan: Civic, Wolverhampton

3 Jan: Apollo, Manchester
