The Police are top earners

The Police top Forbes' annual music rich list with $115m earned between June 2007 and June 2008, largely from their reunion tour.

The Police have been judged the best-paid music act of the last year, thanks, of course, to the profits generated by their one-off reunion tour, which contributed to the trio earning a combined $115m between 1 Jun 2007 and 1 Jun 2008.

The band appear at the top of Forbes' annual music rich list. Beyonce Knowles came in second, with $80m, and was followed by country star Toby Keith, who garnered $48 million. In fourth place was Justin Timberlake with $44m, and fifth was Madonna, who took home $40m.

It's a disgrace, really, when people are starving and all that. Come on, rich rock types, stop telling us to support your charities and just give some of your own dosh away.
