As the music journalists of the UK fully ascertained on Friday morning, by playing in Edinburgh The View are not "coming home" (in-joke reference there I'm afraid, but the round robin emails that followed this announcement kept me amused for at least, erm, six minutes) but, and with no disrespect to Dundee, I expect the Scottish indie rockers' home town doesn't have any where as exciting to play as Edinburgh Castle. And that's where the still rather buzzy The View will be playing an intimate 'homecoming' gig on 21 Feb for 100 winners of a T-Mobile staged competition. It's another one of those 'gigs in unusual places' things. Here's what the band have to say about it: "There's nothing we love more than getting back to our roots and playing intimate gigs with just a few fans. With the event coming from an amazing place like Edinburgh Castle it feels like a proud moment of Scottish history for us already".
