The mother of the teenager allegedly assaulted by G-Unit-er Tony Yayo has spoken out again, accusing the rapper of believing he is "above the law". As previously reported, Yayo is accused of slapping the fourteen year old son of Jimmy 'Henchmen' Rosemond, the boss of Czar Recordings and a rival of the G-unit clan.
Yayo this week turned down a plea bargain relating to the allegations, which would have seen the hip hopper accepting nine months jail time. He continues to deny all the charges, and his lawyer said this week that the plea bargain being offered was pretty poor even if his client had been accepting some liability, but as he was maintaining that he was completely innocent the plea deal was just unacceptable.
The mother of Rosemond junior, Cynthia Reid, told AllHipHop.com this week: "It is reprehensible that rap artist Tony Yayo continues to deny responsibility for assaulting, harassing and endangering the welfare of my 14-year-old son whom he senselessly battered in March. It was blatant and vicious and illustrates Yayo's negligence while proving that he considers himself above the law. It is also indicative of a larger pattern of behavior by entertainers that do not hold themselves accountable for being peaceful, respectful, and law abiding citizens. I am certain that justice will be served when Tony Yayo stands before a judge next month. In the meantime, however, I will continue to mobilise the community to support my son who has suffered irreparable damage both physically and mentally from this horrendous assault".
The rapper is due back in court to face the charges on 6 Sep.
