U2 deny plans to play O2 Arena next year

U2 have denied rumours of a residency at London's O2 Arena next year, after unofficial ticket sites advertised dates the band say it has not planned.

U2 have denied rumours they are planning to go all O2 next year. Rumour had it they were planning a Prince style residency at London's O2 Arena, mainly because one of those slightly dodgy ticket sites were advertising tickets for 14 U2 gigs at the venue next July. But the band told reporters yesterday: "There are no plans for live dates next year - so please don't buy tickets for any U2 shows you see advertised".
