The UK Border Agency have announced that they will appeal the recent decision to grant Snoop Dogg a UK visa.
As previously reported, the rapper was banned from the country after a fracas at Heathrow Airport in 2006, which led to the cancellation of UK dates on a co-headline Snoop/Diddy UK tour last year. Last month Judge Neha Bird overturned the visa ban ruling after watching video footage of the rapper quietly playing with children, then later being pushed to the ground by a police officer without retaliating.
However, British officials claim that "a material error in law" was made during an earlier hearing in January. This means that the Court Of Appeal will now decide whether the case should be heard again.
A spokesperson for the UK Border Agency said: "There has been no change in the facts that led to [Snoop Dogg] being denied a visa. We stand by that initial decision. We will continue to oppose the entry to the UK of individuals where we believe there may be a risk to the public".
