Verve hit makes everyone cry, apparently

Dr Harry Witchel's tests suggest The Verve's 'The Drugs Don't Work' is the sad song most likely to make listeners cry, ahead of Robbie Williams and Elton John.

The Verve's 'The Drugs Don't Work', is the song most likely to make one cry, according to an 'expert' (in what, I'm not quite sure) called Dr Harry Witchel. Witchel claims, having carried a variety of tests, including the measuring of heart rate, breathing and skin temperature whilst subjects listened to a variety of 'sad songs', that the 1997 hit is more capable of making people blub than anything else. And that includes the likes Robbie Williams' 'Angels' and Elton John's 'Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word'. Wow.

Can't say it makes me cry, to be honest, but then, I am notoriously cold hearted. Although, to be fair, Westlife can make me cry. With boredom, obviously.
