Warner consider moving Warner Bros offices

Warner Music Group is reportedly considering moving Warner Bros Records from Los Angeles to New York to save millions, a move that may worsen tensions with Lyor Cohen and Tom Walley.

Apparently the Warner Music Group are thinking about moving Warner Brother Records from their LA HQ to the offices of Warner's East Coast labels in New York in a bid to save millions in operational costs.

It's a move that will no doubt go down well with Warner's financial backers, but less so with Warner Bros' West Coast staff. Given that relationships between US-wide Warners chief Lyor Cohen and Warner Bros boss Tom Walley are already said to be poor, some reckon a geographical move like this could lead to blood on the boardroom floor.

Which is good news for SonyBMG - who could do with music industry gossipers concentrating their efforts on executive tensions somewhere else after all the anti-Andrew Lack shenanigans that went on at the end of last year (especially as some of those gossipers are saying that putting former BMG boss Rolf Schmidt-Holtz into the top job is only a temporary solution and that top execs on both the Sony and BMG side of the boardroom will be finding new reasons to squabble in the coming months).

Don't you just wish these gossipers would go and find something better to do with their time? I mean ... surely there's something juicy going on over at EMI or Universal?
