Weiland fronts Slash's new band

Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland will front Reloaded, the Guns N' Roses line-up without Axl Rose, after auditioning other rockers, with VH1 filming the process for a show.

Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland will front the new band that has been set up by the original line up of Guns n' Roses (minus Axl) which, as we reported yesterday, will be known as Reloaded. Talking to Rolling Stone earlier this week Weiland said: "Yeah, I'm in the band. We signed the contract."

The decision follows months of auditioning other rockers including Sebastian Bach (Skid Row), Travis Meek (Days of the New), Kelly Shaefer (Neurotica), Josh Todd (Buckcherry) and A. Jay Popoff (Lit). The auditioning became such a big deal VH1 started filming it and will broadcast a show about the new band later this year.

No word yet on what this means for the future of Stone Temple Pilots.
