Westwood and Radcliffe become People Of Today

Tim Westwood and Mark and Lard join the latest edition of Debretts' People Of Today, while Dave Lee Travis and Noel Edmonds are dropped.

There’s been a shift in the broadcasters appearing in ‘People Of Today’ – the ‘book of important people’ compiled by Debretts. Old timers Dave Lee Travis and Noel Edmonds are taken out of the latest edition, Tim Westwood and Mark and Lard are added for the first time.

Co-editor Zoe Gullen told Media Guardian: "We made a particular effort to look at broadcasting this year - those at the top of their profession and are significantly in the public eye and also those whose careers are on the wane. Tim Westwood has the only national rap show in the UK and is the most significant figure in European hip hop. With someone like Noel Edmonds, his House Party TV show was cancelled quite a while ago and he has really faded into the background. But when people are dropped, it doesn't mean they cannot come back in future if their careers pick up."

Other musical additions to the new book are PJ Harvey and Simon Cowell.
