Whale begins unfair dismissal proceedings

Former talkSPORT presenter James Whale, sacked after urging listeners to vote for Boris Johnson, has reportedly begun unfair dismissal claims against the station.

Former talkSPORT presenter James Whale, who was sacked earlier this year after he urged listeners to vote for Boris Johnson in the London mayoral election, has begun legal proceedings against the station for unfair dismissal. He has reportedly lodged two separate claims, with an employment tribunal and at the High Court in London.

A source told Broadcast magazine that Whale is unhappy with his treatment by the station and was particularly disappointed that they "never gave him the chance to say goodbye to his loyal listeners". Presumably he hopes to say goodbye in court.
