Whole Radiohead album already online

Radiohead's forthcoming album 'Hail to the Thief' has leaked online in full despite EMI's efforts, with guitarist Jonny Greenwood saying the band are more bemused than annoyed.

Despite extra efforts by EMI, which include a band on early promo copy mail outs, the whole upcoming Radiohead album Hail to the Thief' is now online. Radiohead fans are particularly web literate and both 'Kid A' and 'Amnesiac' appeared online before release. Label bosses hoped they could put off a web leak until as close to actual release date as possible by not sending out promo copies of the album and getting journalists to listen to new tracks at the label's offices. But those downloaders managed to get a copy of the album and it quickly found its way onto thousands of fans' computers. Talking about the 'leak' guitarist Jonny Greenwood yesterday told fans via their website: "We're not angry really. Shame it's not a package with the artwork and all, but there you go. I feel bemused, though, not annoyed. I'm glad people like it, most of all. It's a *little* earlier than we'd expected, but there it is."
