Black Eyed Peas star Will.I.Am has written and produced a song for Earth, Wind & Fire, who are to celebrate their 35th anniversary by releasing their 23rd album, entitled 'Illumination'. Will.I.Am created a track called 'Lovely People' for the long player, which also features collaborations with a variety of contemporary artists including Raphael Saadiq, Kelly Rowland and OutKast's Big Boi. The album is to be released in September.

Earth, Wind & Fire's Philip Bailey said "The idea of illumination is vibrant and positive. Earth Wind & Fire collaborating with the new soul movement made sense because the thrust of their music is still about playing instruments and utilizing vintage sounds, only in today's setting."
