Willie Nelson to release reggae album 'Countryman'

Willie Nelson is set to release 'Countryman', a reggae album he first planned ten years ago with Island's Chris Blackwell, including covers of Jimmy Cliff and Johnny Cash.

Willie Nelson is shortly to release a reggae album. The country superstar has apparently been planning the album for 10 years and travelled to Jamaica back in 1995 for a meeting regarding the project with Island Records founder Chris Blackwell. The idea was shelved when Island was sold and Blackwell left the company, but revived recently when Nelson joined Lost Highway Records. The new album, called 'Countryman', will feature covers of Jimmy Cliff's 'The Harder They Come' and Johnny Cash's 'I'm A Worried Man' as well as original material.
