Willie supports Eminem

Country star Willie Nelson has defended Eminem's lyrics in Playboy, saying politicians should address the poverty behind rap rather than censor it.

In an interview with Playboy country legend Willie Nelson has defended Eminem’s lyrics, saying politicians and campaigners who attack Slim Shady should be thinking about bigger issues: "Rather than trying to put an end to Eminem or some other rapper, politicians should think about why they're rapping. If they are growing up in a violent ghetto, do people expect them to sing about flowers and -- whatever the hell? It's a lot easier to try to censor some kid swearing about the poverty on the street or whatever it is than to stop the poverty on the street. Solving problems is harder."
