Winehouse's home raided by police

Police raided Amy Winehouse's North London home as part of an investigation linked to charges against her husband Blake Fielder-Civil.

Police raided the North London home of Amy Winehouse yesterday as part of an investigation into charges against the singer's husband Blake Fielder-Civil.

Police were reportedly at Winehouse's Camden house for three hours - neither she nor Fielder-Civil were there, and police had to break in to the premises to undertake their search. A police spikesman confirmed there had been "police activity" at the property as part of an "ongoing police operation". The search was seemingly linked to the arrest of four men earlier yesterday on charges of perverting the course of justice. Those arrests are in turn thought to be related to earlier grievous bodily harm charges that have been made against Fielder-Civil and another man after an incident back in July, charges which are due to be heard in court next week. However it is unclear if either Fielder-Civil or his co-defendant were among the four men arrested yesterday.

A spokesman for Winehouse said little about the raids, except to stress that Winehouse was not involved, nor was it related to any drugs charges. The spokesman said: "The only thing I can tell you is that it has nothing to do with drugs and that Amy is fine and she has not been charged or arrested".
